Home minister announced with massive repercussions and amid uproar a sensitive & fraught issue Art 370 to revoke it by presidential fiat in upper house which grants special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Towering leaders of J&K are under house arrest with massive Security build-ups in the state.internet,mobile services have been banned and section -144 was imposed from midnight.
Article 370, a temporary provision the constitution assembly of j&K has been replaced with the constitution of republic of India ,now from that Art 370 (clause -1) has been used to render the constitution assembly of j&K redundant .Article 35A which was not passed even in parliament but by the presidential order in 1954 and is completely discriminatory regime which violates against women,the basic fundamental rights of valmiki's, tribles' and right to equality enshrined in our constitution and which was tapestry of democracy has ceased to exist.
The govt. has displayed the great political will, momentous even bold decision.The moot point or crux of this development is if success would depend on how will the ensuing civil security situation is handled. How will the threats being instigated from across the border by their militants and non-state actors which creates turmoil and civil strife contained.Tremendous alienation will emerge in beginning but the government has to assure the youth of the J&K that benefits could accrue, and they should weaned away from radicalisation through bringing peace to the body and soul.Now considering the geostrategic & geopolitical sensitive nature of Laddakh which is extremely critical region the govt's move to shield it from any internal political machination and to ensure Security of the place is paramount over and above any parochial interest is fantastic.
It's a crackdown on graft ,a few families which are nepotistic and corrupt in nature with vested interests wields power and gained economic benefits.
The opposition accused the govt. with brute majority it has brazenly demonstrated unprecedented chutzpah, unbecoming so cavalierly.
Opposition argument that Article 370 was a link to state's accession are fallacious. J&K accession had concluded on October 26,1947 when Maharaja Hari Singh signed on the instrument of accession.
Pakistan can adopt measures to intensify the infiltration from it's soil by terrorist hideouts established in PoK. Pak also can rathet up whole issue internationally ,but it's stance would be countered by UN resolutions as follows - By demilitarisation pak shall vacate POK with all it's troops subsequently India shall be allowed to retain it's troops at the very least to ensure the status quo is maintained then comes plebiscite , but PAK reneged on that and not accepted the terms.
