The Story So far

Coronavirus outbreak happened in Wuhan city of China and became epicenter for some times but soon it took the shpe of Global pandemic or global health crisis. Covid-19 has put world economies in dire straits and collateral damages are still require estimation and cuatious deliberation.This tiny organism is wreaking havoc and has put USA under great depression with more than 11 lakh infected and 70k deaths.European countries are facing the brunt of this novel virus.China's Stance towards battle against corona is very significant.China's authoritarian attitude and cover up has made world face the anathema of the deadly and dreaded virus.China's clout in WHO is worth considering.It has created too much consternation and restive situations in the world order.China still not in favour to disclose the main source of the outbreak in front of the world.Many countries like italy,Spain and even USA are demanding compensation from China.Such type of developments are not in favour of global interest.Its brinkmanship,arms and strategic activities are forcing world on the verge of crisis.Western companies are leaving China,because they think that China lacks in transparency and democracy.

China's Stance

Actually China & the World International game theory or geopolitics,is poised for a dramatic change in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.The dreaded and deadly virus has beleaguered the world order.The comity of nations will have to grapple with the unpalatable truth that China had initially suppressed the extent of the outbreak till it became global health crisis.Unabashedly China tried to cover up this ongoing pandemic and had punished whistle-blowers.China forcefully made lei venliang (doctor who first observed that it was not a normal virus) to apologise in media for spreading rumours.Lately China exported defective test kits and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) which is unbecoming for the developing countries.When International pressure imposed upon it then suddenly hiked the death toll only very recently,to show this that China is a victim not a creator of the pandemic.There is much that is under the hat.China's stance is dismal and dispiriting in this regard.China always tried to bamboozle the world.Far too little about the origin and global spread of coronavirus.Close to six months after the reported outbreak last December or was it October? the world is puzzled over the praxis adopted by Beijing, the capital that is as yet almost unaffected along with Shanghai.China was already involved in suppression of internal dissent,as in Xinjiang where more than a million Uighurs have been herded into detention camps with little or no international protest.Indeed Beijing’s handling of Covid-19 has jolted the world.A close reflection of the international scene would suggest that there is an increasingly hostile view of China across the world.A dismal reflection on the leadership of the President-for-life,Xi Jinping,who took this issue mildly,has lost his credibility.The hope that China might one day initiate political reform has hit the reefs.In addition to the hawks in the Trump administration,there is a marked degree of general consternation over Beijing’s stance.

Global Repercussions.

Reports suggest that Britain has virtually jettisoned the “golden relationship”,so-called,with China that David Cameron and George Osborne had once pursued.Leaders of the Conservative party are said to have demanded a “fundamental reset” in ties,and spy agencies in the United Kingdom have called for a reassessment of the bilateral equation. Now that Brexit has materialised,this could well be the second major foreign policy conundrum for Boris Johnson.More basically,Beijing’s successful attempts to change the narrative,to dilute domestic anger,have caused fury in world capitals. Chinese diplomats and state media have touted conspiracies suggesting that the US could be responsible for the virus,such types of accusations doesn't hold water it's ironical statement because US is already facing the havoc of this virus.US intelligence agencies and an EU report say Chinese operatives spread disinformation about Covid-19 on social media,a charge that has been denied by Beijing. Xenophobia has been fuelled by the Chinese media’s attempts to highlight what it calls “imported cases”.This has even acquired a racist dimension,a racial profiling of a dreadful disease is inhuman in the extreme.

Conclusive remarks

This pandemic has shown the deeply ingrained nuances of chinese authoritarian regime.When the whole world was awaiting and was in the need of co-operation with China to tackle Covid-19, China has shown its utter disregard towards world harmony and prosperity.China never change its attitude but the world is forced to change their attitude and they should review their bilateral and multilateral relations with this dictatorial and dystopian country.There is no explanation yet as to why Africans in Guangzhou have been targeted for tests,harassed,barred from shops and restaurants,and even evicted.There have been lapses elsewhere,for instance,in the United States.But Americans will have a chance to hold their leader to account in November.It is the world,though,that will have to call China to account,its citizenry has been rendered incapable of doing so by a totalitarian system.
